Research Notes for Lemuel Storrs:

Lemuel may be the man born 13 Mar 1725/26, married Colchester, Connecticut, 11 June 1749 Hannah Gillett, who died in Colchester 22 June 1759. Lemuel died probably in Colchester between 5 Dec 1774 and 21 June 1779. He was living in Dover, Stafford Co., New Hampshire on 5 Dec 1774, but no record of his residence has been found afterward.¹

The source cited above, which seems thoroughly researched, does not mention a marriage to Dinah (Thayer) Allen. He had a son, Lemuel, who was also living in Connecticut, but was born 26 Apr 1753, probably too young to be Dinah's spouse. Furthermore, Lemuel's marriage to Elizabeth Chapion in 1783 likely precludes a marriage to Dinah in 1778.

By 5 Jan 1793 Dinah's husband, Lemuel, who was not mentioned in the Middlesex County deed, was probably deceased. On that date, Dinah was a resident of Brooklyn.²

Dinah was only 38 when she married Lemuel Storrs. Children might be expected, but none found in the Connecticut records (Barbour).
